Gurbaz Singh Grewal, BSc

PharmD Candidate

Gurbaz holds a BSc in Biochemistry from UBC and is currently a PharmD candidate. He joined the Subramaniam Lab to deepen his experience in structural biology and contribute to structure-guided therapeutic development. His work includes molecular cloning, protein purification, and quantification, with a focus on the lab’s de novo minibinder project. He also contributes to optimizing protocols for downstream applications and supports cryo-EM–based projects aligned with the lab’s broader research goals.

Outside the lab, Gurbaz is a passionate science communicator and radio host on Red FM 93.1, earning him recognitions such as Surrey Board of Trade’s Top 25 Under 25 award and Semiahmoo Rotary Club’s Service Above Self Surrey Youth Award. He is committed to advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion in STEM and creating accessible pathways for underrepresented voices in science.
